WASHINGTON — Funding to house a new Air National Guard engineer squadron at Mansfield Lahm Airport was approved Friday by the House of Representatives.

The $11.4 million provision, requested by Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Urbana, is included in the 2010 Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations Act, which was passed by a 415-3 vote.

The funding will be put toward the construction of facilities to house a 200-person detachment of the 200th RED HORSE (Rapid Engineer Deployable Heavy Operational Repair Squadron Engineers) Squadron activated at Lahm last year.
