The RED HORSE and Prime BEEF Association was formed in 2001 as it was determined there was a need for all USAF Combat Civil Engineers to remain in touch, re-establish old friendships, create new ones, perpetuate our spirit and traditions, represent the interests, provide a fraternal atmosphere, encourage social interaction, develop a scholarship fund and support our members in their time of need.
Our Mission is to increase awareness of the USAF Combat Civil Engineers accomplishments and tradition of excellence past and present during war and peace time with the American populace, preserve our proud heritage, share our legacy and to foster strong and mutually beneficial relationships among government, educational and civic leaders. It is our desire to be a significant force of support towards the USAF CE strategic mission, to be able to contribute to the over all morale and enhance the welfare of our profession.
We are a non-profit, tax exempt, non-commercial professional military association that exists to support, promote and develop the interests of all past, present, Active, AFRC and ANG USAF Combat Civil Engineer professionals.
Membership applications are available on this web site (the second red tab on the top left of this page) or feel free to contact us for more information.

Release Number: 020409

4/3/2009 - NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE, Nev. -- Airmen assigned to the 820th RED HORSE Squadron will return from combat duty Monday, April 6 at 3 p.m. here.

The Airmen, who have been deployed for six months to locations throughout Iraq and Afghanistan, will be greeted by family and friends at the Nellis Air Terminal immediately upon arrival.

RED HORSE squadrons provide the Air Force with a highly-mobile civil engineering capability in support of contingency and special operations worldwide. They are self-sufficient, mobile squadrons that provide construction support such as runway repair, electrical upgrades and equipment transport. RED HORSE squadrons also build lodging facilities, storage areas and operational buildings in deployed environments.

Many of the returning Airmen are participants in the support program called "Adopt an Airman," which partnered deploying Airmen with members of the community prior to their departure in September 2008. During their six-month deployment, Airmen received support from their community partners by way of care packages, letters and pictures from home. The parties will be reunited on Monday, and celebrate the Airmen's service and their safe return home to Clark County.

More than 290 RED HORSE Airmen will return to the area Monday, which will add to the more than 130 Security Forces personnel who returned to Nellis April 1.
